Terms & Conditions

The terms that govern your Tabaa subscription and your use of it. Last updated: 2026-08-13.

This English translation is provided for convenience only. The Arabic version is the authoritative text and governs in the event of any discrepancy.

By subscribing to Tabaa or using any of its apps and programs, you agree to these terms, so please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What the service is

Tabaa is a subscription software service: it blocks sites, apps, and unwanted content, and manages screen time, on Android phones and Windows PCs. It is a safety and digital-discipline tool for adults as much as for children - for focus and productivity as much as for family safety - and it is not spyware or covert monitoring. What we sell is a software licence, a service subscription, and support; we sell no physical product through this site and ship nothing.

Accounts and eligibility

The account holder (the supervisor) must be at least eighteen years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you enter, for keeping your password confidential, and for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

Supervisor, user, and consent

The service rests on a two-party relationship: the supervisor, who holds the account and sets the rules, and the user, who holds the managed device - and in a self-control setup they are the same person. When you link somebody else's device you must own it or be legally authorised to manage it, and an adult device holder must know Tabaa is installed and consent to it, unless you are their legal guardian. Installing the service on an adult's device without their knowledge is a direct breach of these terms, and the responsibility is yours alone.

The supervisor controls the managed device

Once activated, the supervisor controls the device's policy: which apps are allowed, which sites are blocked, time limits and schedules, lock modes, and the tamper-resistance settings that stop the software from being removed or disabled on the device itself. That is deliberate design, not a defect. The user cannot lift the protection themselves; it is lifted from the supervisor account, or through support after account ownership is verified. A supervisor may delegate some controls to the user, and may withdraw that delegation at any time.

Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service to manage devices you own or are authorised to manage, within the scope of your subscription and for as long as it runs. The licence is tied to the subscription and ends with it.

Acceptable use

  • The service is for managing devices you own or are legally authorised to manage.
  • Using the service to monitor an adult without their knowledge or consent is prohibited.
  • Attempting to disable the service, bypass its protection, reverse-engineer the software, or access our systems without authorisation is prohibited.
  • Covering more devices than your subscription includes, or reselling the service without a written agreement with us, is prohibited.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and not sharing them.
  • Using the service for any purpose contrary to the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt is prohibited.

Subscription and payment

The service runs on a recurring per-device subscription, monthly or yearly, whose price and term are shown clearly before payment. The term starts the moment the subscription is activated and ends when it expires unless renewed. Published prices are in Egyptian pounds and include any taxes the law imposes. We may change prices in future, and a change never touches a period you have already paid for. When a subscription lapses, syncing and control from the supervisor dashboard stop. The Windows program is a standalone product with its own separate subscription per PC; a phone subscription does not include it.

Renewal

There is no automatic renewal in Tabaa today: each period is bought with a separate payment that you start yourself, we keep no card details, and we never charge you of our own accord. If you do not buy a new period, the service stops at the end of the paid one with no further charge. The end date is visible to you in the supervisor panel and in the program on the device. If we add automatic renewal in future, it will only ever run on your explicit choice and can be switched off at any time.

Refunds and cancellation

You can cancel at any time. Refunds are governed by a detailed set of rules - the review window, how to file a request, and how long it takes - published in full in our refund and cancellation policy - it forms an integral part of these terms.

Installation

Installation is self-serve: you install the service on your own phone by following the steps published on the install page. On a phone, installation begins with a factory reset that erases the device's data, and backing your data up beforehand is your responsibility. We charge nothing for the installation itself, and support walks you through it for free when needed.

Service availability and limits

We aim for a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may run updates or maintenance that temporarily affect some features. Blocking also relies on lists and techniques that evolve constantly, so blocking every piece of unwanted content in every circumstance cannot be guaranteed. Tabaa is a strong tool that reduces the risk to a practical minimum; it is not a substitute for your own attention and parenting.

Operating systems and other parties

The service builds on capabilities provided by Android, Windows, and the browsers. Updates to those systems, or restrictions imposed by a phone manufacturer, may affect some protection features. We track those changes and adapt as fast as we can, but they are not fully within our control.

Intellectual property

All rights in the software, the name, the logo, and the published content belong to Tabaa. Your subscription grants no right to copy, modify, or distribute the software, or to attempt to extract its source code.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, or for use that harms others or breaks the law, after notifying you wherever that is possible. Where termination follows a serious breach, the account holder is not entitled to a refund of the remaining paid period.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data arising from your use of the service or your inability to use it. In all cases our total liability will not exceed what you actually paid for the subscription in the twelve months before the event. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will change the last-updated date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms. Where a change is material, we will notify you using the contact method registered on your account.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Egyptian courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or from use of the service. Before any recourse to the courts, we will always try to settle a disagreement amicably through our support channels.
